Regenta Central Srinagar

The linen and towels had visible mud-like stains, so I couldn’t tell if they had been properly washed or reused. This stay at Regenta Central Raj Bagh, Srinagar, was nowhere near the standard I expected from the brand. I’ve stayed at Regenta properties before, but this experience left me very disappointed, and the hotel needs to improve staff training, transparency, guest handling, and housekeeping hygiene. We’d booked one night, then had to extend to four days because of a medical emergency and daily hospital visits. During that time, the receptionist denied having a room for us and told us to check out, even though rooms showed as available online and through the hotel’s reservation number. We only got an extension after calling the reservations team. Checkout was the worst part. The deadline was noon. We were packing extra luggage from a long trip and checked out around 12:45 pm, but from exactly 12 pm onward we got repeated calls and knocks from housekeeping telling us to leave right away. Obaid, the housekeeping staff member who had been knocking, came to collect our luggage. When I asked why we’d been disturbed repeatedly, he said the hotel was sold out and the next guests were waiting downstairs. Then he left the luggage in the corridor and walked away. We carried it downstairs ourselves and raised the issue with receptionist Raina. He repeated that the hotel was sold out and guests were waiting, though nobody was in the lobby and rooms still showed as available online. When we showed him, he admitted the hotel had two rooms apart from the online inventory. He said this was done just to make us vacate after checkout time. He was dismissive and even told me I could leave whatever review I wanted. In my experience, even unbranded hotels usually allow an hour or two of late checkout unless they’re genuinely sold out and arriving guests are actually waiting. That treatment felt especially poor given our difficult circumstances and the several days we’d stayed.

The staff’s behaviour was very gratifying, and Mr. Samir, the head of the restaurant, and his team deserve thanks for the best experience. The hotel is very good and well designed. It made for a really wonderful experience in my life. ♥️♥️♥️

The staff made our three-day stay during our Kashmir tour especially comfortable. Everyone was humble, polite, and cooperative, and we appreciated the management, the food, and the housekeeping. Mr. Hameed and Mr. Wasim at the restaurant looked after us so well, and housekeeping manager Mr. Imran was a delight to deal with. We'd be happy to come back.

Zero bridge is an easy walk away and a lovely spot to spend the evening. Getting around is simple too, with autos and taxis readily available because the hotel is well connected. We had a great stay at Regenta central Srinagar: the rooms are well appointed, the hotel is comfortable, and the staff are attentive. The restaurant serves very good food, and Mr. Sameer and Hamid were especially welcoming, professional, and cheerful. I strongly recommend it.
