Shah Abbas

The location is so good, and I had a wonderful stay. But the water smells of mud, and the hotel was dirty, including its rooftop restaurant. The owners aren't maintaining it the way a hotel should be, so I took off two stars for hygiene.

The rooms have burnt sockets, so you'll need to buy an extension from the market to charge your phone. The whole place is dirty and smells like a drainage system, the food is the worst, and the service is cheap. They don't know how to respect or behave with tourists. I'd rate Lal kothi hotel below zero. I humbly ask anyone considering a stay here not to go. Owner, selling the hotel for a few coins would be better for the location. Even if they offer you money to come, reject them!

We were there from 04/04/25 to 08/04/25 and had an excellent time. Watching the sunset from the third floor balcony with Dal Lake in the background was unforgettable. The staff behaved well too. It's a vintage place in Srinagar, though a few modifications are needed to keep the hotel top notch.

I brought guests to Hotel Shah Abbas near Ghat No. 10 as a driver, and the way I was treated shocked me. In all my years on the road, this was one of my worst experiences. Staff, especially at the front desk, were arrogant and acted as if they had never been trained in hospitality. They looked down on me because I was a driver, didn't greet me or show basic respect, and offered no chair, water, or place to wait. My guests noticed and felt embarrassed for me. To drivers, avoid Shah Abbas Hotel if you don't want to be insulted or humiliated. Tourists should think twice before booking, since the way drivers are treated reflects how others may be treated too. A hotel without basic decency toward a driver has no courtesy or system, and I can't expect them to serve guests well. Shameful and disgusting behavior by Shah Abbas Hotel, Dalgate. Never again.
