Elphinstone Inn

The rooms have wonderful views when the weather cooperates, including the Trisul and Nanda devi range. This feels like a real hidden gem, with lovely service and outstanding rooms. What they offer for the price is hard to believe.

I’d stayed at Elphintstone Inn three times in the previous two months and thought it was a good budget hotel with friendly staff. That changed on May 27, 2026. We asked to move rooms, and although rooms were available, the request was refused very rudely. We understand changing rooms can be difficult, but they could have explained that politely. We had already paid in full, yet left straight away because of how we were treated. Only after we said we were leaving did their tone change, and they offered us other rooms. We turned those down because the behavior had been unacceptable for hospitality. I’ve never been spoken to so rudely during any of my stays elsewhere.

Pine trees and natural beauty surround the property, and every room faces the Himalayas. The view from our room was breathtaking. I’d like to come back and would suggest it to others.

We spent two nights there, on 2nd and 3rd jan 2026, and the place felt like heaven. The rooms, washroom, facilities, and food were all up to the mark, and there’s parking available. It’s now at the top of my list for a relaxing, quality break with family or friends. I hope the owner keeps up the same cleanliness and hygiene in the future. Thank you.
