Hotel Samudra

I only stopped at The Byke Heritage - Puja Samudra briefly in the morning to freshen up, so I didn't stay overnight. The location is convenient in Kovalam, walking distance to the beach and reasonably close to the main road, without being right in the crowded beach area. It could suit travelers wanting easy access to local attractions. Rooms are spacious, and there are basic amenities including air conditioning, toiletries, drinking water, elevators, and a swimming pool. The garden-like area inside is pleasant. The property feels dated, though. Rooms, furniture, bathrooms, and bed linen all seem old and in need of refurbishment. Cleanliness and upkeep could be better, as several areas looked worn and somewhat untidy. Parking is available, but much of it is outside the main property, which could raise vehicle safety concerns depending on the time and season. Staff service was adequate, but not especially attentive or supportive. It might be worth considering at a competitive price if location matters more than luxury or modern facilities. It may do for a short or budget visit, but with the rooms and general upkeep as they are, I wouldn't recommend an extended stay unless the rate is significantly below nearby alternatives.

The hotel had a calm, welcoming feel, and the food was tasty and hygienic. Its convenient location gave us easy access to nearby attractions and transport. Our room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, and the staff were polite, friendly, and always ready to help. I had a pleasant stay in Thiruvananthapuram and would recommend it for family trips or business. Good value for money, and I'd love to return.

Rooms are extremely dirty and smell damp, with no proper place to sit. There's no room service and no hot water kettle in any room. The attractive pool photos are misleading because the pool has been closed for the last year. There's no lift, yet they put guests on the third floor. Don't book here or trust those photos.

The manager, Mr. Muthu sir, was polite, helpful, and an amazing person, and we had a great experience. The hotel is being renovated, so maybe everything will be perfect in a month. We’d definitely love to come back. Book a pool side room, highly recommended. The beach is only 50 mtrs walking distance, and we really enjoyed our stay.
