Selvalakshmi Restaurant and Lodge

I left very disappointed by the lodge owner’s rude behavior. I was new to this temple and booked blindly while on the way, without seeing the rooms. He agreed to an early morning check-in because the room was empty, and at first he was kind and helped clear up my girivalam questions. I even told my friends how much I appreciated him. The trouble started when I asked to extend my stay into the next day. He wanted the full 1500 for a full night. I politely said that was too much, so he offered 1000, which still seemed expensive to me. His tone changed immediately, and he said it wouldn’t look good if he said more. I took that to mean he might start using bad language. I went out to get food and called later to ask about checkout. He raised his voice and said I had to leave by 7 AM. I told him I’d arrived around 8 to 8:30 and would leave around then, but he shouted that I couldn’t say I’d check out at 8 because he needed an hour to clean the room. The lodge is far from the temple, making darshan difficult. I was also the only guy on the entire floor staying there, yet he spoke as if allowing my early check-in had been a great sacrifice. He acted nice at first, then showed another side. The rooms smell and aren’t very good. A waste of money, don’t go.
