Hotel Laxmi Palace

The checkout dispute made this stay at Lakshi Palace, Udaipur stressful and disappointing. My two female friends checked in around 6:00 AM on 24 January 2026 after being told the tariff was ₹2450 per day. They accepted that price and completed check-in. But when they checked out that night, staff suddenly asked for ₹2850, a ₹400 increase with no advance notice or explanation. When challenged, staff denied quoting ₹2450, and management kept insisting on the higher amount despite repeated discussion. This left them feeling cheated and uncomfortable. Changing the agreed price at checkout is unacceptable, and the way it was handled, especially with female guests, felt like harassment. It showed a lack of transparent pricing, communication, and professional conduct. In a tourism city like Udaipur, this kind of experience damages trust. I’d advise future guests to get the tariff in writing before checking in, be careful about verbal price commitments, and check billing policies beforehand. The hotel needs to improve its professionalism and honesty. Not recommended unless pricing transparency improves.

The room’s persistent bad smell made the stay deeply unpleasant, and basic hygiene and cleanliness seemed neglected. The rooms are grossly overpriced for their condition. I think they should cost around 700 at most, and even that feels generous. Staff conduct was rude and shockingly unprofessional, with little courtesy or hospitality. Mr. Chandra Shekhar Joshi in particular was blunt and dismissive, speaking harshly and disrespectfully. That attitude alone can ruin a guest’s experience. With problems in pricing, cleanliness, and service, I strongly don’t recommend staying here. There are much better options for less. Avoid it if you value your money and peace of mind.

The food was amazing and better than I expected, and the staff were very cooperative. They were especially helpful in planning a Udaipur itinerary. I stayed last night and had a pleasant experience in this budget property, with rooms that were very clean and hygienic. Highly recommended for an affordable, comfortable stay.

The staff were disgusting, and the costs weren’t reasonable. There was no complimentary water bottle, and they charged 30rs for a bottle of local brand water. I felt the owner only cared about money. I personally wouldn’t recommend this hotel. Waste of money.
