Moustache Udaipur Verandah

The restaurant was a real highlight: the food was spectacular, and Rakesh and Ishwar looked after our group so attentively. The views over Lake Pichola are stunning. We also appreciated the front desk staff, who were pleasant and did their best to help. Getting our luggage through the narrow Old City streets from the parking area took some coordination, and the staff managed it with tuk tuks and bellhops. The rooms and some shared areas were a letdown. In both rooms, the floors felt sticky and a little dirty, there was brown material on the grout, and the shower curtains had mildew along the bottom. Hot water came and went, leaving us with a couple of ice-cold showers. We told staff about the curtains and were told they'd be replaced, but that never happened. Our laundered sheets also had a blood stain. The upstairs seating cushions were marked and dirty, and the bathroom outside the lovely restaurant was just a not-very-clean toilet in a cement room. During the night, the power went out and the generator ran for 15 minutes, blowing exhaust into one of our rooms. We had to leave until it cleared. Laundry, money exchange, and maintenance are handled outside the building, so the hotel depends on other vendors. Our laundry missed the promised 24-hour turnaround, though we stayed another night and got it before leaving. It was beautifully folded and smelled great, so the wait paid off. For a place this beautiful, the condition of things really surprised us. Udaipur itself is a beautiful city and well worth visiting.

The calm, welcoming atmosphere and convenient location made this a really enjoyable stay. My room was clean, comfortable, and well cared for, and the service was even better than I expected. Everyone was friendly, professional, and quick to help. Nimesha and Surbhi were especially friendly. I'd happily stay here again and recommend it.

Tapendar deserves a special mention for the warm welcome and hospitality. The staff were polite, attentive, and ready to help, and the service was better than we'd expected. We also really enjoyed the food and its wide range of choices. A great option if you're after good food and helpful service.

Having a clean, comfortable, well-kept place to return to made my Udaipur trip even more memorable. The staff were friendly, service was excellent, and I especially enjoyed the breakfast and dinner. Moustache Udaipur Verandah is also perfectly located for exploring the city. It was a really amazing stay, and I'd recommend it.
