Soham Haveli Udaipur

The adrak wali chai was the best part of our stay at Soham Ki Haveli, and honestly, the rest was disappointing. We booked at the last minute after the unplanned hostel we'd expected to stay at turned out to be a complete disaster when we arrived. With no other rooms available, we took a family suite, but for the price it felt below average, like we were paying just for the convenience of finding somewhere quickly. Because it was a family suite, I invited my sister and her friends, who were already in Udaipur, to come by. Only then did we hear that Udaipur locals weren't allowed inside the property, a rule nobody had mentioned at booking. We were also told there was a strict curfew before 11 PM, which seemed surprising when people visit Udaipur to see the city and enjoy the evenings. The staff made a scene over the locality rule and asked us to send my sister out in the middle of the night. After a long discussion, the manager agreed to let her stay but charged us extra. It felt unnecessary and unprofessional. Getting a cab from this location is another hassle. If you stay here, it's better to arrange your ride from the Khama Ghani area. Sharing our honest experience so others can keep these things in mind before booking.

The rooftop lake view added a lot to our stay, and the food was tasty too. Soham Haveli sits in the middle of the lake area, and the traditional interior is beautiful. Our room was clean and comfortable even without AC, and good value for the price. The atmosphere felt calm and homely. Ms. Durga and Mr. Naresh were especially kind, humble and helpful, and their warm hospitality made us feel at home. It was a comfortable, budget-friendly stay, and I highly recommend Soham Haveli for an affordable, pleasant and authentic visit to Udaipur.

Gangor Ghat and Bagor Ki Haveli are nearby, and Khamma Ghani restaurant is behind the homestay. The host was so sweet and kind, and they helped us a lot. We had a lovely time here. I highly recommend it, especially for solo travelers or women traveling alone, since the location is good too.

The food was top notch, especially the Alu parathas and chai, which are a must try. The owners, Naresh Bhaiya and Durga didi, are kind and big-hearted, and made us feel very welcome. They also arranged a scooty rental for us without any hassle. It's more like a homestay than a hotel, with really loving people and very budget-friendly prices. Must visit! Thank you!
