Titardi Garh- 18th Century Castle Homestay

There can sometimes be noise from loudspeakers nearby, continuing until 11pm, which could be a problem for light sleepers. Even so, we’d love to come back, and felt it was well worth the price. The Haveli sits on a small hilltop, with a wonderful heritage feel. Our room was traditional but comfortable, and had all the amenities. The stay was quiet and pleasant, away from the city bustle. The real highlight was caretaker Mr. Shiv Singh: brilliant, caring, warm, and excellent at his job. He and his family made simple, incredibly fresh food every time.

My stay at Titardi Castle left me torn. The rooms were spacious, clean, excellent, and beautifully appointed with local charm. Staff were attentive and warm, and made me feel welcome. Yet the birds and parrots kept in cages on the property, some of which appeared to be endangered species, deeply saddened me. I understand they may be there as an attraction, but it felt wrong in such a beautiful setting. These intelligent, social creatures deserve to fly and live in their natural habitats. Keeping them caged is illegal under the law of the land. I’m making a sincere request to owners Rudra ji,Jaishri ji: please consider a bird-friendly environment without cages. Releasing the birds or coordinating with a sanctuary would be a more ethical and compassionate approach to nature. If you want comfortable rooms and great service, this place delivers. But if you care about nature or animal welfare, the caged birds may leave you uneasy. I hope management takes this to heart and sets them free. I’m writing anonymously because of my relationship with the owners. I hope they free the birds.

The terrace gives you a 360 degree view, and they have friendly pets too. This is a heritage property; our room was spacious and clean, and the breakfast was good. We had lunch once and it was excellent. Shiv Singh, the caretaker, was very humble. We had an excellent stay.

We wanted a quiet, pet-friendly break away from the busy city, and Eighteenth Century, Titardi Garh – Castle Titardi delivered. We stayed one night in October 2025, two adults with our large Rottweiler. Check-in was smooth, and Mr.Shiv Singh was very welcoming. Our room was clean, spacious, comfortable, and felt secure and private. The AC and hot water worked well. Breakfast was complimentary and tasty. The heritage setting and open grounds were peaceful, and the reasonably priced lunch and dinner, made to order, tasted good too. This is one of the most genuinely pet-friendly places we’ve stayed: no extra fee or restrictions, and our dog was completely at ease. The owner has four dogs and two cats, which made us feel at home. There were plenty of safe areas to walk and explore on the grounds. It’s a bit far from the main attractions, so plan transport in advance if you want to see Lake Pichola or City Palace. A good fit for anyone after heritage vibes, open space for pets, and a calm setting. A stress-free stay for the family and dog made our Udaipur trip much more enjoyable. We’d definitely return.
