It’s an opd hotel, but the rooms seem to have been renovated recently, so they’re clean and fresh. They’re small, yet the space is used well, with room for suitcases, bags, shoes, and slippers. It’s comfortable for a night, and the temple is only a five- to six-minute walk away. Service was very good. We got tea in our room within five minutes of ordering, and breakfast was complimentary and good. There’s wifi and a TV with proper channels. They also gave us very good extra bedding at no extra charge, which made the stay comfortable and satisfying.

The attached restaurant serves delicious food, and the staff were friendly and attentive. Rooms and common areas were kept very clean, so the place felt welcoming and safe. There’s also Adarsha hospital, a multi-speciality hospital nearby, which is reassuring in case of an emergency. Udupi Residency is in a prime spot and convenient for travelers. The calm, supportive environment makes it a good choice for families with children or infants, as well as solo travelers.

The plates didn’t seem clean and the restaurant’s general hygiene was concerning. The food itself was disappointing too: the dishes barely had salt or masala and weren’t appetizing. The bill felt high for the quality and experience. Even small roadside eateries do better on taste and hygiene. It’s sad to see a restaurant that was once well-known in Udupi decline so much. For a 3-star hotel, I’m surprised by how poor the food was. I wouldn’t recommend it and won’t be returning.

As someone in the hospitality industry, I found the service at Udupi Residency restaurant really disappointing. Staff acted as if they were serving food for free, and we had to ask several times just to get water. Customer requests seemed to go unheard. With that attitude, many people won’t feel welcome coming back to such a popular restaurant. Please work on improving the service and dining experience.

It’s a small, clean, well-maintained hotel, with very good rooms and a comfortable bed. The charge is affordable for the quality. The location by the private bus stand is convenient, and Shri Krishna Temple is within walking distance. It’s about 5 to 6 km from the railway station. Udupi isn’t a big city, so you can get around from here in about five minutes, and buses to Malpe beach are available nearby.
