Hotel Ashray

The rooms were decent for our family visit to Mahakal last week, but there wasn't hot water available for bathing. The staff opened a room with a geyser, and three families filled buckets and carried the water themselves. They should tell guests about this when handing over the room, so we could have chosen another hotel.

The wash basin wouldn't drain properly, and staff only dealt with it after several follow-ups, very slowly. We also had to keep calling for little things: after cleaning, they hadn't put out the bathroom mat, and it took repeated reminders to get it. For some requests we had to ask eight to ten times. Service felt inattentive and lacking in basic hospitality. Guests shouldn't have to keep chasing staff for simple needs. Not a pleasant stay.

The night receptionist acted like he was doing us a favor by offering a room, and the staff were very rude, with no basic manners toward elders. They asked for a 5% commission for online payment. There were water leaks and basic amenities were missing.

It was busy, but the service team still managed to prioritize things well. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the food was delicious. My family had a comfortable stay.
