Hotel Maa Sharda Palace

We stayed in one of the fully renovated rooms in the new hotel wing, which is going to open soon. We had four adults in the room. It was clean, looked great, and the service was good, with reasonable prices. We had an EV, and the charging station is right across from the hotel.

Mr Tarun ji, the owner, really focuses on customer satisfaction, and the hotel is good value for money. Our room was clean and comfortable, and I liked the place enough to stay again. It’s only 6 km from the hotel, so I’d suggest taking an auto for the city and temples. There’s a Dhaba right opposite, with awesome taste and ambience.

At 11 at night, when I arrived with my wife, the hotel said they don’t accept Agoda bookings. I’d booked through the app and had confirmed twice with the staff beforehand, and they’d said the booking was fine. With no other option so late, I had to pay extra for a room. It was a really upsetting experience. The staff were hopeless, the location was poor, and the rooms were very basic for the price. If you’re using public transport, it’s hard to leave early because no auto or taxi would go to the hotel.

There’s no in-house restaurant, and Mahakaleshwar Temple is 10 km away. I thought the room needed to be better, and the photos may be a bit old. If you book through Agoda, there can be serious trouble: you may have to cancel, and a room is assigned only if one is available and you’re lucky. I’d look at other hotels instead.
