MPT Shipra Residency, Ujjain

We'd stayed at MPT Ujjaiyini twice and heard MPT Shipra was a higher version, so we tried it this time. It's directly opposite MPT Ujjaiyini, with a good ambience, and the food was good and served with proper etiquettes. The room size was just okay. Bed linen was clean except for the duvet cover, which was changed after we asked. We requested a room change the next day, but again had to ask for the linen to be changed. Reception staff were nice on the first day, then seemed indifferent and sad looking. Wi-Fi in the room wasn't good. A strange thing was that every staff member who came in to provide a service seemed to expect a tip, even the boy called to change the linen that should have been clean in the first place. Overall, I found MPT Ujjaiyini a better option at a lower cost, though it only has vegetarian food.

There is ample parking, and the property is in the city centre. The rooms are dirty, with torn ceilings and holes, and the place feels more like a lodge. Room service is the poorest. You have to ask repeatedly to get all the accessories. Even if you've paid for a twin room with an extra bed for three guests, they won't supply everything for three people, and an extra bed doesn't come with an extra blanket. One room opens straight onto the open terrace, with only a 2.5 feet high parapet. The bathrooms are poorly designed, with the hand faucets on the left.

The staff were courteous, helpful, and quick to assist, and the service felt professional throughout my visit. MPT Shipra Residency in Ujjain also has a convenient location for getting around the city and visiting nearby attractions. My room was clean and well maintained, and the welcoming atmosphere made the stay very pleasant. I had a wonderful experience and would recommend it to anyone visiting Ujjain.

Our five nights at MPT Shipra in Ujjain were great, and the food was very tasty. Breakfast was included and had plenty of choices. The stay itself was good, but the trip arranged at the end was worrying. We asked at the reception about stopping for breakfast on the way, since we needed to take our blood pressure tablets, and visiting navgrah temple on the way to omkareshwar. They said that was absolutely fine, the car would be ours for the whole day and we could do as we liked. None of this was passed on to the driver, though he agreed as soon as we told him. It turned out he had a pickup from Omkareshwar at 10.30, so he kept rushing. We were told we had the vehicle all day, but the driver had a pickup fixed. He arrived before six in the morning, as requested so we could avoid indore traffic, but drove very fast throughout. He kept talking on his mobile with one hand while steering with the other, arranging deals to pick people up, drop them off, and collect money. He kept getting orders and passing them to others, apparently for a commission. It felt scary. You can't put our lives at risk by driving at high speed and doing business on the phone. Please don't book vehicles through the MPT Shipra desk. The stay and food were good.
