On 10th December 2025, I went to Shri Mahakal with my wife, son, and elder sister, and we had booked two rooms at Hotel Vikram Aditya. We were told the rate was ₹2,500. Since we had stayed there before, we accepted and checked in. After returning late from the Mahakal Arti the night before, we were told at 9:00 AM that we had to leave within 30 minutes because wedding guests were coming. I asked what the check-out time was, but to avoid an argument, we vacated by 9:30-9:45 AM. When we went to pay, they charged us ₹6,200 instead of ₹5,200, and the staff misbehaved with us. The service from management was very poor. This felt like harassment of guests visiting the holy place of Shri Mahakal Ji. Should anyone have to stay at a hotel like this? The owners need to take this seriously, because their staff are running a hub of misbehavior and cheating in a sacred city like Ujjain.
