OYO 70882 Hotel Royal Retreat

The staff were rude and bashful, and the stay wasn’t worth the money. The bedsheets hadn’t been washed and the blankets smelled. A waiter once came right into our room without knocking to bring water. Reception said it was RO water, but it was just chilled water from boring. They didn’t even provide mineral water or tea and coffee for free.

For just an overnight stay, it can be good value if you only need a comfortable room and don’t expect food, parking, or other hotel services. The rooms are good, though we had to ask for clean sheets; the towels were clean but heavily used. It’s very close to Vadodara station, about a 10-minute walk, but there’s no parking. The hotel occupies three floors of an old building with a very poor entrance. You can hardly tell there’s a hotel there, and the view from the window is horrific. I wouldn’t use it for a family holiday, as they’d feel it was very cheap.

Wi-Fi was available, but there were no toiletries or complimentary mineral water bottles. They gave us a towel, though it wasn’t clean. The bed and mattress were good, but the sheets and pillow cover weren’t washed, and I got rashes. You have to ask the staff to replace them after checking in. It’s near both the railway and bus stations, but I wouldn’t recommend staying here because proper cleaning wasn’t done.

The staff were cooperative and the place works for a night or two, but I wouldn’t choose it for a longer stay of 10 days or more. I took off a star because the AC in my room wasn’t working.
