Aljo, the main caretaker, was helpful and responsive over the phone. The rest of the stay didn’t meet my expectations. Vinyl flooring was peeling in several spots, which made the room look poorly maintained. The food was expensive. We paid ₹1100 for a barbecue that seemed to have been cooked ahead and reheated, even though it’s typically prepared fresh in front of guests. We also ordered two ₹250 biriyanis, and one was so bad we gave it to staff unopened. I wouldn’t choose to visit again.

We paid ₹5000 for the room, but the service fell short. No one helped with our luggage at check-in, and the hot water ran out after just one person had showered. I asked for an iron box, but it never arrived. Noise from neighboring rooms kept disturbing us because the rooms aren’t soundproof, which made the stay less comfortable.

The food was delicious and homely, and Mr. Stephen made us feel truly welcome with his support and hospitality throughout our stay. Orma Farm Stay sits in a peaceful tea estate, with calm, refreshing surroundings that made for a lovely getaway. I’d highly recommend it for a quiet retreat with great service.

The view from the property is wonderful, and being surrounded by about 60 acres of tea plantation means you can walk around and take it all in. I stayed one day in the Tree house and another in Pine Prestige, and the location really stole the show. The main issue is the lack of a proper restaurant. They arrange breakfast and dinner from outside, and you have to adjust to the taste. Still, it’s an ideal place to stay with family and friends.
