Capital O 60016 Bungalow 598

The people managing and working at Bungalow 598 are lovely and very helpful, and the guide to local restaurants, bars, and beaches was useful. The place is unusual and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it. It’s a hotel/B&B that also works as a yoga resort, with a peaceful setting and plenty of green around it, while nearby Vagator offers party options if you want them. The 1970's Le Corbusier three-storey accommodation block contrasts with the traditional bungalow at the front. I expected the grey concrete style to feel out of place in Goa, but its artistic purity makes it work. The front bungalow contains the communal kitchen, check-in desk, dining areas, veranda, and front Garden, where you can relax. Each room in the block has a floor-to-ceiling window, and the greenery growing on the building and potted plants inside bring the architecture together with its surroundings. Blinds are available, though I liked waking up to natural light. The mid-century furnishings have a minimalist feel, and the beds were very comfortable, giving us peaceful nights. They aim to be environmentally friendly: wastewater is reused for the plants, hot water comes from a heat pump, and the swimming pool uses filtration instead of chemicals. Guests are encouraged to drink the purified water instead of buying bottled plastic water. Free bike rental is offered too. Guests can cook in the shared kitchen, or join staff-prepared evening meals. Breakfast can be pre-ordered. There are communal areas in the accommodation block, with TV and Netflix on the ground floor and an open-plan lounge with tea and coffee facilities on the first floor. You may also find yourself here for a peaceful yoga retreat. Massage facilities are available, and you can book an hour for the equivalent of £15, which left me totally de-stressed and floating on a cloud. The rooftop swimming pool is a lovely place for a dip, and it’s lit up at night.

Our host "Sajan" was great, arranging bike and car rental and pointing us toward famous spots to visit. The staff were very nice, and we appreciated their hospitality. We liked their "Yellow Dal Fry" a lot, and the open kitchen lets you make your own dish or ask the chef for special food. The terrace pool is lovely for swimming under the open sky with a scenic view. This bungalow is wrapped in greenery and has a rustic-modern look with contemporary interiors. A perfect nature's place for couples and families in north goa, with Vagator beach nearby. We’ll visit you soon this year. ~Sanket

The front house is an old home converted into the kitchen, dinning, and lounge. Behind it is a basic, rustic three-storey building. The rooms are clean and cozy, and the whole place has a home stay feel. Service is slow, but it’s a unique place and I’d recommend it.

A really thoughtfully made place to stay. The staff are very friendly and give you space, they never bother you.
