Kiara Hotel Goa

We had a terrible stay, one of my worst experiences in Asia. The Wi-Fi was broken, the host couldn't speak English, and the owner was rude and unhelpful when I finally got him on the phone. He said the rooms we'd already booked through Agoda were sold out, then tried to charge us twice the original price for a bigger room. We'd booked the night before for about 1200 INR. Don't waste your time here.

I really liked the service, and one of the staff actually became a good friend of ours. The hotel still has a lot to improve, though.

I booked a large room with two king size beds, but on arrival the manager said it wasn't available. He showed me a small room with one double bed and wanted to charge the same price. That makes no sense and is unacceptable. Good luck with your booking if you choose this place.

For the price, this is a simple, decent budget option, and the staff were friendly. The guy was funny, too, and I felt good here overall. I liked that they offered dinner. Our sink didn't work, but the shower and AC were fine, and they gave us towels and soap when we asked. The place was a little dirty. We were late for breakfast at 10 am, so they gave us plain chapati and coffee, but the coffee was full of ants. Maybe check the sugar!
