This was the worst stay I’ve ever had in Kerala. My friends and I needed a room for just six hours at 1 a.m., planning to leave early in the morning. We spotted the rooms on the way, and he charged us 1500 for one room. The owner wasn’t kind, and the room was awful and badly maintained. There were five of us, but none of us could sleep all night because of the bed bugs. The bad smell from the bed and walls made it even worse. We paid what he demanded, then ended up sleeping in our car for the rest of the night. The service was pathetic. He only wants money, not customer satisfaction. Such a greedy attitude. Never EVER take a room here.

Just 1.5 km from marayur town, this place sits in lush greenery with lovely views of the surrounding forest. The owner was very friendly and helpful, ready with assistance, recommendations and local insights, and made sure guests felt cared for. I had an amazing stay at aathishaya marayur and would recommend it to anyone wanting to unwind, meet fellow travelers and enjoy the beauty of marayur. NB: contact directly

We found this lodge after arriving in Marayoor and discovering that many of the main hotels and resorts were occupied by a movie crew. A roadside agent pointed us here. We stayed two nights while exploring the Marayoor Kanthallor area and spent our days enjoying the peaceful nature around there. Our room was basic, small, but clean. They kindly brought us an extra floor bed, which was handy. I’d suggest this simple place to solo travelers or bachelors who mainly need somewhere to sleep at night.

There’s no real provision for food, but the Inn’s owner was very kind and helpful. The rooms are spacious, with a view from the balcony, and the rates are reasonable with free WiFi. It’s well positioned near the local market, about 1.5 k.m away, and the forest rangers office is the closest landmark. A good option for couples and travellers.
