Sirukundra Garden Bungalow

What made our stay at Sirukundra Bungalow in Valparai stand out was the care from the staff. They were warm, attentive, and genuinely thoughtful, making us feel looked after as soon as we arrived without hovering. We also loved the fresh, flavorful, homely meals, all prepared with the setting in mind. The wooden chalets are cozy and private, and the property sits among lush tea estates with lovely views. It was one of our most memorable stays.

We loved wandering around the tea plantation next to the bungalow, and the food and hospitality were great. Sirukundra bungalow is a 100+ year old British plantation bungalow with an old-world charm. We spent two lovely nights there and look forward to visiting again.

The bungalow is old but decently maintained, with well-kept bathrooms and lawns. The surroundings are very quiet, between tea plantation and forest cover. We stayed three nights and enjoyed the good-quality food at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Room service was very good, and the manager and staff were great. They dealt with a water-heating issue straight away and did whatever they could to keep us comfortable.

The food was good, but service took far too long, maybe because of an LPG issue. For the price, the upkeep is really poor. There’s no pool, and the play area is run-down and inaccessible. The garden grass is overgrown, full of insects, and hard to get into. They really need to improve things.
