The mud house, the gentle drizzle, and all the greenery made it easy to slow down and enjoy the quiet. It felt calm and close to nature, and the kindness of the hosts and staff made us feel at home. I’ll carry this feeling with me for a long time. If you need a break from everyday noise, this place can help you relax and feel refreshed. Thank you for the lovely experience. Highly recommended ❤️
We stayed in the Griha cottage, and its nature-friendly style was thoughtfully carried through everything, from the shelves and interiors to even the dustbin. The washroom was especially beautiful, surrounded by greenery. Across the property, the natural atmosphere and considered design made for a peaceful stay, with soothing outdoor sounds in the morning. Ambili guided us well and helped make everything comfortable, and the staff were warm and welcoming throughout. The food was delicious, homely, and satisfying. There’s also a lovely natural setting for candlelight dinner. A relaxing, nature-connected stay, highly recommended.
The food options were very limited, and the quality was poor. For the price, I expected tastier food and better service. There were no guides or recreational facilities either. Mudhouse Marayoor looks appealing in photos and on social media, but the actual stay didn't live up to the high cost. It felt overpriced and not worth the money. I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for good value. There are better, cheaper stays around Marayoor and Munnar.
The mud rooms were a highlight for us, especially the Tree house, Griha, and mom’s cottage. We came to celebrate my husband’s milestone 70th birthday and see the Jacranda blooms nearby. It was lovely to meet the owner, Deepak, and his Akita. The staff were always ready to help, and manager Ambili was available whenever needed. The Spa was excellent, and Mr Dennis was exceptional at his job, one of the best ever. The food was wholesome, homely, and made under very hygienic conditions. We shared some feedback with Deepak, who was happy to receive it. I loved the earthy, rustic feel in today’s high-tech world. Lots of love to the people, and blessings to the place.
Ambily and the staff were so warm and friendly, and nothing felt like too much trouble. The home-cooked food was delicious and always served with a smile. We loved exploring the gardens and admiring the decorated mudhouses, cycling through local villages, walking to the viewpoint over two valleys and down to the local river, then sitting by the firepit before dinner. We stayed in both a mudhouse and the tree house, and each was wonderful in its own way. The Mudhouse is creatively designed with so much care and attention. It’s a peaceful break from busy tourist spots, and well worth spending a few days here if you’re travelling in Kerala.
