Hotel Haifa

This used to be my favorite hotel for years, so it’s sad to see all the bad reviews. My last visit with my group was awful: poor service, dirty rooms, a sewage smell, a rude front desk, and long waits for food. I keep checking back to see whether it’s improved. It used to be such a nice, comfortable place.

On our first trip to banaras, we paid a huge amount and still got poor service. The fan didn’t work, and the AC was very old. When we complained, everyone was rude, including the guard. There wasn’t even a bottle of water in the room. Worst experience.

I ended up leaving after two nights even though I’d booked five. I’d asked at check-in whether the shower had hot water all day, and staff said yes, but the geyser in my room didn’t work. They moved me, with the same result. It seemed like none of the roughly 35 rooms had a working geyser. My replacement room also had a broken door lock, so I had to call staff whenever I needed to lock or unlock it. Power cuts happened several times overnight and lasted one to two hours each. The stay was extremely disappointing, and I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

Absolutely disgusting experience. The bathrooms were in a pathetic state, and the place needs thorough maintenance in many areas. They served what they said was RO water in previously used Bisleri bottles from earlier guests, though I’m not sure it really was RO. Service was very subtle in standard and not worth a penny. The hygiene was extremely poor throughout.
