Varuna Palace Varanasi

Prem and his wife made us feel so welcome, and even surprised us by making breakfast. The place was well kept, with lovely areas including a rooftop, and our room was clean and well equipped. They were also fine with our late check-in. It was a FANTASTIC stay, and we only wished we could have stayed a few more days.

We paid 3k offline for a room listed at 6k, and it wasn’t worth even 150 rs. It felt like a cardboard box, and they gave us the worst room for 3k. The TV and AC didn’t work, there was no water when we turned on the tap, and they didn’t provide a towel or soap. The advance of 1k had already been paid, but they kept asking for the full amount. They had no duplicate key, so they repeatedly called my father to return and open the room. Then they blamed and taunted him and my elderly uncle the next day over the tap being left on. They also called my father and his friend about the water. If they were worried about water being wasted, why not have a spare key? The father and son were money minded, disrespectful, fake, and badly behaved. This was a friend of a friend, but they still looted us and disrespected the elders. Imagine how they’d treat other customers who don’t have that connection. I was stressed and regretted booking this idiotic place. Don’t go here, and look at their reply below to see what I mean.

The location was quiet and really good, and my family had a very good time. AC, TV, and geyser all worked well, check-in was easy, and the owner even gave us a good discount. He was extremely friendly, generous, and went out of his way to help us. Best hotel in Varanasi so far, and the best hotel experience I’ve had. I strongly recommend it if you’re planning a visit to Varanasi.

We had an awesome family stay. The host was generous and very helpful, guiding us around the city, and the room was very clean. The ghat and mandir were close by, too. Strongly recommend this beautiful place.
