The resort has a lovely sea view from the room and a pool right in the middle. The cliff is lined with shops, bars, and hotels, giving it a bit of a mini Thailand feel. It’s a great place for a couple of days, and October to March seems like the best time to visit. The location on the cliff edge is the main draw. The resort itself is nice, but service felt understaffed and below par. We had to call staff over each time we needed something. The pool can also get noisy at night.

For ₹5000 a night, I expected working basics and a comfortable room, but staying in Room 112 at Sun View Beach Resort was stressful. The bathroom lighting was poor, and the bed was in awful shape. The cot creaked with even small movements, the mattress and cushions were old and uncomfortable, and the springs actually hurt me while I was trying to sleep. The WiFi, TV, and fridge weren't working either. When I raised it at reception, I was told the person responsible was in a meeting and couldn't take the call. That was very disappointing after paying that much. I wouldn't recommend the place unless the rooms and customer service improve significantly.

Sunview Beach Resort & Spa is right on North Cliff, with easy beach access and wide ocean views. You can sit by the sea-facing pool or watch the sunset from an Ocean View Vista room. It’s a great place to base a Kerala trip, with the Arabian Sea right there and Varkala’s red cliffs all around.

We cancelled our trip in late September 2025 after being explicitly promised a full refund. Four months on, despite steady, professional follow-ups from our team, we still haven't received it. The owner's later offer of a 50% refund in good faith was ignored too, and he has stopped keeping his commitments. We have screenshots documenting the refund promises. We just want the business to honor its word and issue the agreed refund.
