OYO 9721 Hotel SR Rooms

For the price, this is a clean, roomy place compared with others nearby, and the staff really try to make you comfortable. SR Rooms and hostels has a small kitchen with an oven and mini fridge, plus Wi-Fi around the clock. The rooms are spacious and kept tidy. Worth it.

The food and service were a real letdown, and the bill didn’t match the March quote. You quoted breakfast at Rs. 125, but billed Rs. 250. Rooms were quoted at 1500 and charged at 1800, while suites went from 2200 quoted to 4000 per room. Even the suite rate board at reception showed 2800. The Rs. 4990 miscellaneous charge was said to cover the packets in each room and puff. Even allowing Rs. 50 per serving basket across 8 rooms and counting the evening veg puff, I can’t see the total exceeding Rs.1000. The Rs. 15000 decor charge got us a decent exterior, but the couple room only had some flowers on the bed. On the last morning, breakfast was just dry aloo puri. We’d told them the member count had increased, so something else should have been added. Breakfast was meant to be complimentary at the hotel anyway. The food we tried earlier, dal and roti, was quite good, but only the day before our booking madam told us event orders were outsourced. Lunch was awful. There were basic problems too. We had no drinking water on either day. We called Anna repeatedly, but he kept making excuses and never brought any. He said the jug and container leaked and there was nobody to collect bottles and refill them. Later he offered to sell Bislery bottles for around 30 rupees each, said he had a full carton, and told me not to mention it to madam. When we raised the issue at checkout, madam did nothing. On the 19th, dinner was moved from the 4th floor to the 5th floor terrace. Fine, but there were no chairs; after half an hour, some arrived, covered in dust. There was no room service or cleaning during the stay, and no fresh blankets in the couple suite on the wedding night. We trusted what they told us, and that was our mistake. Even setting the cost aside, the deep cleaning, good food, and prompt service were missing. The dirty chairs, lack of drinking water, and poor breakfast shouldn’t happen. With all this, even one star feels like too much.

The rooms are spacious suites, with basics like a microwave oven, electric kettle, and mini fridge. They feel like luxurious, roomy 2X or 3X rooms, and the place is one of the cleanest, most elegant OYO rooms I’ve visited. Check-in can take a while, though. Each time I came, even after arriving around 3 to 4pm, I waited at least an hour despite the standard check-in time being 12pm. Calling ahead about your arrival may help. Still, I’d rate it 5/5 for the luxury and elegance.

Not worth the time or money. The room was in poor shape and full of bugs, and the staff were arrogant and unwilling to make even small adjustments. If you can, check somewhere else.
