The Brook - Resorts & Spa - Yercaud

We booked four wooden villas at Brook Resort, Yercaud for one night, and the experience was extremely disappointing. We paid around ₹6,000 per room, which felt far too high for what was provided. Several facilities didn’t match what had been promised. The advertised kids’ space was being used for storage, so there was no play area or kids’ room. The gym couldn’t be used because the equipment was damaged, and the pool maintenance was poor. Staff on the ground, including at reception, were unprofessional and poorly coordinated. The food was extremely poor, and breakfast ran short. Guests had to wait outside the kitchen, and the food was gone by 9:30 AM. Live music and the campfire started only at 7:30 PM and lasted just half an hour. We also contacted Goibibo about cancelling. We’d asked to cancel four days before check-in, but they called back only on check-in day at 2:30 PM and refused a full refund. Their support was just as disappointing. Yercaud is worth visiting for the pleasant weather, but there’s nothing special about the wooden or tree villas that justifies the high price. Better to book regular accommodation and save the money.

The room was just okay, nothing special, but service was good and the food decent. We had a pleasant stay, helped by the amazing view from our tree house and the lovely evening weather. Pakoda view point is within walking distance of the resort.

I’m writing after several attempts to get a meaningful reply from MakeMyTrip about my booking, which was marked as a no-show after we were in a serious road accident while travelling. It took 17 days to get a response, and that came from the hotel rather than MakeMyTrip. The hotel said MakeMyTrip alone had the authority to handle cancellations, goodwill requests, or alternatives, so the responsibility for resolving this sits with your team. I still have no clear contact number or email for the assigned agent or responsible team. The replies so far have been generic, with no ownership or attempt to resolve the issue. This delay and lack of response feels negligent, especially given the documentation and genuine emergency involved. Please provide the assigned booking or support agent’s name and direct number, the official email for the booking resolution or escalation team, and contact details for the supervisor or escalation manager handling cases like this. Denying customers a responsible point of contact while delaying replies is unacceptable. I expect a clear owner and a concrete next step, not another generic response. If I don’t get the contact details and a proper reply within a reasonable time, I’ll have to take this further through the appropriate consumer grievance channels.
