OYO 18476 Hotel Wisteria

Food meant going about 3 km from the hotel, which made things difficult for us. The rooms and bathrooms had ceilings that leaked nonstop, and the smell was awful. Our door lock was broken and had no key, so it didn't feel safe for a family. This is the worst hotel I've seen, not fit even for a 2 star rating. Don't be tempted by the low price. Waste of money.

The staff were friendly, and check-in started pleasantly. The main road location was easy to find using maps. But the rooms were a different story. Our first one reeked of cigar smoke, which triggers serious coughing and dizziness for me because I'm very allergic. They changed it right away, and the replacement seemed fine at first. Then we noticed the fan looked as if it hadn't been cleaned since the hotel opened, spit stains by the dustbin, dusty bathroom tiles and visible webs, and filthy windows. Cleanliness was at zero. The white towels were grey and worn out. When we asked for a fresh one, they brought another that looked much the same and said it had just come from laundry. The bathroom tap sprayed water in every direction. The friendly service couldn't make the room comfortable to stay in.

The restaurant only served tea, and they charged 30 INR for a water bottle marked with an MRP of 20 INR. There was no water in the washroom either. Reception said it would take 20 minutes to fix because the tank was empty and they needed to switch on the motor. The ACs kept shutting off for around 20 minutes every two hours, and reception blamed power shortages. The toilets smelled and the WCs had yellow stains. We only slept in the room and spent the rest of our time out. I picked Wisteria Hotel Chandigarh because Google showed it as a 15-minute drive from the airport, but the booking.com photos were completely misleading. I strongly advise tourists and families, especially those coming from far away, to avoid it. You'll regret the stay and remember it for the rest of your life.

The bathrooms were quite spacious, and the staff were nice and willing to help us find what we needed even in the early hours. The room itself was very small, though clean and neat, and the bed was smaller than you'd expect in a hotel. It's about 6 km from the airport.
