Orchid Hotel Chandigarh,Zirakpur

Elante Mall is a bit far away, but the comfort and room quality more than made up for that. During our two-night stay at The Orchid Chandigarh, the rooms were comfortable and well maintained, and the staff were polite, professional, and always ready to help. Room service was excellent. I’d recommend staying here and would happily return.

I paid 6000 odd for a horrible stay, and there were no bell boys or anyone to help with my luggage. The hygiene was awful from the start. There was hair in 4-5 places in the bathroom, and the shower gel bottle was empty when I arrived. I had to rush to a meeting, so I couldn't do anything then. The hairdryer didn't work either, and I reported the problems before leaving. When I came back at night, they had refilled the shower gel, but had just swept the hair into one corner of the bathroom. There was also some sort of algae in there. When I got onto the bed, I found a 2 inch spider. The towels stank like they had been used 10 times without washing, smelled like the previous guest, and had turned brownish. This morning I told them about the hygiene, and the dest lady officer asked whether the hair had been collected in the corner or near the drainage. I was speechless. NEVER STAY HERE IF HYGIENE MATTERS TO YOU.

Dinner choices were limited, though every dish was good, and the breakfast spread was decent and tasted great. We picked this relatively new hotel for our son's first zoo trip. The staff helped make the stay comfortable overall, but there was no kids-friendly pool or play area, which was a big miss for us. Hotels in the same price range often have better family amenities. I should have checked before booking. It feels more like a corporate hotel than a family-focused place. We enjoyed the stay, though it could have been better, so I'd give it 3 out of 5 stars.
