Khawarnaq Palace Hotel

The outside looks so good, which makes it even more upsetting that the rooms are one-star quality and the service is zero-star. Please don’t come here. You’d be better off staying home, even for your wedding, than choosing this place for a special day or vacation.

The staff were very good, but the hotel is badly managed. The bedrooms are dated, the windows are dirty, and the carpet is loose. The towels were old and smelly, there was no toilet paper or water, and the room wasn’t cleaned for two days. It’s an unofficial three-star hotel being given five stars. I wouldn’t recommend it unless it gets facilities worthy of five stars.

The rotating restaurant on the top floor is the highlight, with panoramic 360-degree city views while you eat. The service was attentive, though the food was average. The hotel is a wonderful, comfortable and convenient place, with spacious, well-appointed rooms and a touch of luxury. Khawarnaq Palace Hotel is a good pick for a memorable meal with a view, but it’s far from the shrine, so less suited to pilgrims.

Khawarnaq Palace Hotel is a practical mid-range choice in Najaf, with reliable quality across the board and no unnecessary frills. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and adequately furnished, with comfortable beds, functional bathrooms, and the essentials for a pleasant stay. Staff are helpful and efficient, the front desk handles arrival and departure smoothly, and housekeeping keeps the rooms clean. The location is its strongest point, rated 4 stars, with convenient access to important religious sites and other attractions. Rooms and service earn 3 stars each. It’s a solid base for visitors who care more about access and convenience than luxury, whether they’re here for pilgrimage, business, or other travel.
