Cockroaches were left behind even after I asked room service to clean properly. They made the bed without changing the sheets, replaced a towel, and left the dead cockroaches where they were. I went to reception and asked again. The room was supposedly cleaned a second time, but a dead cockroach was still on the floor. Basic cleaning just wasn’t happening. The room was filthy, with cold water that ran brown for nearly ten minutes when I tried to shower before it became usable. The staff were indifferent at best, with no accountability, attention to detail, or care for guests. This was one of the worst hotel stays I’ve had anywhere. I travel extensively for work and have stayed in conflict zones and remote regions, so this experience really stood out. I only stayed because I’m in Baghdad on assignment and need to be near the office at short notice. If you have another option, stay somewhere else.

The food and service were good, and the people were very friendly. The venues for workshops and training are perfect, and the tech service was great too. But nobody can sleep before 4:30 am here. Party noise is so loud, the windows don’t block it well, and even the cars outside can be heard.

Brothers and foreigners, Mansour Melia Hotel is a beautiful, upscale place to enjoy alcoholic drinks. The service is very good, and the most famous thing here every day is what I’d call 10-star service.

It’s a reasonably priced, safe place to stay in Baghdad’s green zone. The management does what it can to make guests comfortable despite all the constraints and the challenges Iraq has faced. You can’t and shouldn’t compare it with international 5-star hotels. I hope they invest in improving the infrastructure soon.

The beds were very uncomfortable, the carpets dirty and the bathrooms in bad shape. Staff at check-in, the restaurants, and housekeeping were unfriendly, and seemed to look down on guests who weren’t local.
