Coral Boutique Hotel Baghdad

My wife and I spent two nights here after our wedding. The room had an amazing view, was very clean, and stayed cool, which was a plus in May. We also had power for the whole stay. The one thing we didn’t like was the front desk staff, who seemed curt and a little rude. All in all, we highly recommend the hotel.

At checkout, the receptionist accused me of taking a coffee machine that hadn’t even been in my room. There were coffee capsules in the minibar, but no machine to use them. They insisted on searching my luggage, which made me feel like a criminal. I was trying to catch a flight and had only two hours left, yet they humiliated me in front of other guests and colleagues. The search found nothing, and nobody apologized. I was treated with suspicion and rudeness throughout. I was staying at Coral Baghdad Hotel on a business trip. I don’t usually write reviews, but this was one of the most insulting and unprofessional experiences I’ve had, despite traveling frequently. The staff showed no respect or basic hospitality, and this is not how a business-friendly hotel should treat a guest. Avoid this place. Baghdad has plenty of hotels where you can be treated like a guest instead of a suspect.

This was the worst hotel experience I’ve had. The rooms are old and poorly maintained, and there was a constant, horrible smell in the bathroom. The hotel controls the air conditioning. Even though the controls offered cooling or heating, ours only warmed the room. The front desk said they had switched it to heating only, then told me to open the window.

I enjoyed my stay here. The hotel was clean and very nice, and the staff were friendly and helpful.
