Vote Hotel

I’ve stayed in five-star hotels before, but this one felt even better. It brought back warm childhood memories, and you can tell the staff put their hearts into what they do. They were attentive, kind, and respectful. Breakfast had lots of delicious dishes with a distinctive taste. Such a lovely hotel.

The shower had great pressure, and the staff were lovely and accommodating. But I can’t see how the location gets such high ratings. It felt like the middle of nowhere, about an hour’s walk from the City Centre/ Citadel, and even the taxi driver said it was far out. The low price didn’t make it good value for me since I had to spend extra on taxis to get to and from the centre. Noise was a constant problem. The walls were paper-thin, the rooms were right next to each other, and I could hear people talking and using their phones. Smoke from other guests kept getting into my room, even the bathroom. The sheets had stains, so I wasn’t sure they were clean, though they didn’t smell. I was there during Ramadan, so I can’t comment on breakfast. Anyone calling it a home from home must be living in a dump.

We came back to this hotel four months after our three-day stay during a trip to Oman in October 2025. It was our first choice again, and we still give it five stars. The staff are especially warm and helpful. Our motorcycle was secure in the private underground garage, and the central location made it easy to reach sights, restaurants, and shops on foot or by taxi. The breakfast buffet was generous and varied, and looked as good as it tasted. The rooms are small, but cozy and clean, with beds that made for a restful sleep. The shower water was warm, and the WiFi fast and reliable. Thanks for the hospitality, we’ll happily recommend you.

Good breakfast and a handy spot near the main street, but the rooms are tiny and close together, with no window that opens. The air conditioning made a noisy sound, and the sewer pipe under the wash basin was broken. The pillows and sheets weren’t clean, with some hair on them.
