After a long day around central Ahwaz, I found the room quiet and comfortable, and the hotel’s calm atmosphere and clean rooms really stood out. The staff were polite, kind, and well trained. It’s right downtown near the bazaars, with the beautiful Karun river within walking distance. The rates felt reasonable for what was provided. I’d recommend it to people sightseeing or handling official business in town who’d rather stay centrally than in a fancy hotel far away. Mohammad Sadri March 2025

The staff were polite, but the 40,000,000 rial room charge for foreign guests is excessive.

The sheets were clean, and the toilet was clean too, though a bit dusty. The plumbing, however, is old and awkward to use. The price doesn’t feel justified by the quality, and the staff were really unfriendly. Nobody greeted me at reception, and the seated employees stared me up and down as I passed. I first wondered if they were just sleepy, but that wasn’t it. At check-in, the administrator took our passports, asked us to fill out the registration form, then handed the key to the bellboy. That was all. Neither of them explained the room number, breakfast, or Wi-Fi, and I had to keep asking the bellboy to get any information. Breakfast was poor. On the first day the hot options were grilled sausages, an Iranian bean porridge whose name I don’t know, and boiled eggs that were dirty. They served margarine instead of individual portions of butter. In the following days they removed the porridge and left just eggs and sausages. I really hope the staff get further training and at least start greeting guests.

Hotels seem to cut back on service when high season gets busy, especially when travelers are rushed or dealing with difficult circumstances. Accommodation businesses should pay more attention to customer satisfaction and try to turn guests into loyal clients instead of one-time visitors. Word of mouth carries a lot of weight.

In Ahwaz there aren’t many places to stay. If Pars hotel isn’t available, you may have to go with somewhere like Naderi. The location works well for merchants but is awful for tourists. The breakfast was okay, though the rooms were dirty and smelly, and the bathroom was the same.
