Hafez Hotel Tehran

A good hotel in central Tehran. The staff are very friendly, and the manager is kind and understanding.

We stayed here for a long time while we were students in Tehran, and the manager gave us a very good rate. The friendly atmosphere is something we'll never forget. Hafiz hotel is very good, the staff are friendly, and the manager is a very nice and understanding lady.

For a budget trip, this is a pretty good option if you're not too fussy about the room and want to be in the center, near Golestan Palace and Grand Bazaar. The hotel looks like it's from the 1950s, despite the owners' attempts to refurbish it. Rooms are clean and spacious, but the bathrooms could be better. Breakfast is tolerable, two stars at most. Staff are friendly and helpful, though sometimes not very knowledgeable. $37 a night might feel a little high, but then there's the location, location, location :)

The rooms are spacious and the beds are good, but this place is supposed to be a three-star hotel and the stay had some real problems. The sheets were supposedly washed, but we found lots of hair on them. There was hair on the towels too. The toilet and shower were okay. There was only one plug in the whole room, and we couldn't turn off the AC because there was no remote. Breakfast was poor and strange. The food was set out on desks, so you'd expect to choose what you want, but we weren't allowed to. They brought salad, jam, butter, eggs, and tea to our table themselves. It took a long time, and it was unpleasant to have someone else decide what we should eat.
