Howeyzeh Hotel

On my second visit, I ordered a chicken kebab at the restaurant. It took so long that I was getting annoyed, but when it finally came, it was delicious, one of the best kebabs I had during my month in Iran. The staff were very helpful, and reception sorted out a problem with my phone. I had a good breakfast too. The place was very comfortable and had everything I needed, plus a view of snow on the mountains from my window.

There were two big cockroaches in my room, and it hadn't been cleaned properly. Reception did move me after I complained, but the lobby man was rude, said my complaint was wrong, and told me not to do that again. There's also no room service in the mornings or at lunch. It used to be a clean, quiet hotel with acceptable service and a really good price, even if the staff weren't friendly. Now it's losing its low-price advantage and getting worse. You can hardly go a day without seeing an argument between reception and guests.

The best thing about this place is its central location. You can take a cab to most tourist attractions, or walk about 10 minutes to the closest metro. For the price, it's more like a 2- or 3-star hotel than a 4-star one. Breakfast wasn't acceptable for a hotel claiming four stars. There wasn't much variety, and it was the same every day. The AC was the worst part. We arrived in late April and it wasn't running. When we asked, they said they hadn't turned it on yet, and when we tried to discuss it, they said it wasn't hot enough for them. It was 27-30 degrees C outside. They gave us fans that barely cooled the room.
