Restaurant 41 around the corner served much better food than Homa Hotel's own restaurant, whose menu was tiny and whose dishes didn't live up to the hotel's reputation. Breakfast, on the other hand, was good and caused no problems. The hotel's wide courtyard has cafés, a swimming pool, and a tennis court, and gives the place a charming feel. The building dates back to the Pahlavi era and was remarkably modern for its time. It still compares well with many hotels built after the 1979 revolution. The location is also a big plus, in one of the city's best areas, with restaurants, shops, main attractions, and just about anywhere else close by. I liked the nostalgic architecture, the spacious courtyard, and how easy it was to get around. With a proper renovation and better restaurant service, this could be a truly outstanding place to stay again.

I got rooms at Homa hotel for my Chinese friends and moved them to another hotel after just one day. Everything was bad. The rooms were old and dirty, the service was awful, and there was no gym for women. Don't try it at all.

The historic buildings and location make it a nice choice for business trips. It's easy to reach both downtown and uptown.

It's a real five-star hotel, with helpful, friendly staff. The location makes it easy to get around by bus, taxi, and other ways. Breakfast is served at the top of the hotel, with a perfect view of Tehran.

I waited around 30 minutes or more over a simple issue, because nobody at the hotel seemed willing to help. Our car had been blocked by other cars, and our driver said there was no security staff to ask for help. I went to reception and explained in English. My colleague speaks Farsi and said the staff were insulting me, asking who I was and why I was speaking so fast. Once my colleague translated what I said, the three receptionists shifted responsibility among themselves while just talking and doing nothing. They acted as if they were heading to the parking lot, but when they were a little farther from me, they turned away. I told the organizer, the Iranian Association of Air Transport and Tourist Agencies, and they immediately announced the car's plate number. When the cars started moving, a hotel staff member came over to say it was resolved. It was resolved, but the hotel hadn't helped. I was there for dinner at Zomorod hall, invited by the association. I'm a diplomat from an embassy. This was the worst hotel I've been to in Iran, despite staying at or attending events at hotels in Tehran, Mashhad, Isfahan, Shahroud, and Chabahar. Horrible experience.
