The breakfast had a good range of choices, and the whole place was very clean. Our room was a good size and had good facilities. The reception team were especially friendly and excellent. It’s fairly close to town, though the hill could be tough if walking is difficult. A taxi is easy to get, though. I’d happily book again if I’m back.

We spent a week here in January 2025, and the staff made things easy from the start. They were helpful with questions and replied quickly to emails before we arrived. The room was small but comfortable, with everything we needed. The toilet and shower being separate was a nice touch, though they’re quite close to the bed. Akureyri is easy to get around on foot. We walked from the airport and even made it to the northernmost point of town without much trouble, despite it being -24 Celsius. We enjoyed the stay and would recommend it to anyone visiting.

The hotel is well located, about a 10-minute walk downhill to town. Rooms are a decent size, with separate spaces for the toilet and shower. There’s heating but no air conditioning, though you can open the windows for fresh air. The room had coffee pods but no safe, and the building has one elevator for five floors. Breakfast choices were somewhat limited. If the Northern Lights are visible, the front desk can call your room if you ask.

Dinner was even better than breakfast, which was good too. The staff were all really nice, and the rooms were comfortable, clean, and amazing. Of all the Berjaya hotels, this was the prettiest one to me, with a luxurious look.

The location was nice, around 800-1000 metres from downtown Akureyri and that iconic Church (see attached photo). The rooms were good, and reception was friendly. Grazie mille.
