The breakfast buffet was great, with a good range of food, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were nice and cozy, though I found a toenail by the headrest and fake lashes on the floor. I could get past that. The hotel is lovely and very central, so everything is walkable. They also have paper maps at the desk that you can tear off and take, a nice touch. Luggage storage is in the basement.

The location worked really well, right on the high street and about a five-minute walk from the main bus stops. The staff were all really friendly and helpful, and our room was much bigger than expected, with a little kitchenette. We did have a bad night when the bar next door had renovation work going on past midnight against our room wall. I mentioned it to reception the next morning, and they spoke to the people there for us. Breakfast was all cold continental food, with a small selection of cold cuts, bread, pastries and cereal. After two days it got boring, so we went out for breakfast a couple of times for a change. There was also an elevator ad offering guests fish and chips with lava cake for pudding for 4900. We mentioned it to the restaurant, and they took 10% off, then added 11% VAT, so the total ended up the same. I’ve no issue with VAT, but it should have been stated in the ad.

Even with so much around it, the hotel felt quiet and homey. It’s cozy and charming, with a lot of thought put into the place. You’re right by rainbow street, bus stops, a grocery store, a second hand store and plenty more.

We got a free upgrade, and parking was available on site or nearby. The hotel was nice and clean, with a simple but good breakfast. Its location is excellent for a Reykjavik stay.

We came for a quick Reykjavik city break and stayed two nights in November. The hotel was super clean and comfortable, in a great spot, and the staff were friendly. Breakfast was great too. I’d highly recommend it.
