We loved staying here. The house is right by the city center, with free parking just out front, which worked well for our Ring Road drive. There’s no real reception, so it feels more like staying in someone’s home or a bed and breakfast. Our room, 204, had a lovely view and plenty of space, with comfy beds, a huge wardrobe, velvet seating and a beautiful headboard. The halls and bathrooms were just as nicely done, especially the wallpaper and carpet. Tea and coffee were available in the room and hallway, and there were snacks on a shelf outside our door.

It felt like a real home, with nice furniture and design touches. The apartment is right in the middle of Akureyri, about a four-minute walk from the town center and restaurants. Street parking nearby was simple, and getting in with the key code was easy. I’d stay here again.

My favorite place to stay on my Iceland trip. The rooms were clean and lovely, with vintage furniture, big windows looking out over the fjords, and a very comfortable large bed. The shared bathrooms were clean too. There’s no reception, and you pick up your keys in the entrance hall. If you need staff, you can use the interphone by the front door or walk about 10 minutes to a nearby hotel owned by the same people.

I’ve stayed at Akurinn for three nights and have always been so pleased. It’s close to downtown Akureyri, with lots of sights within walking distance. The rooms each have their own style, and the setup varies: some have private bathrooms, while others share; some have a sink, desk, chair and wardrobe. They leave a nice welcome folder with the key, and clean towels and a bathmat are provided. You can also buy breakfast if you like. 😊

The room was nice, if a little small, with three twin beds, a couch and an armchair. The shared bathroom wasn’t a problem since we were the only guests there. The place felt a bit humid inside, and getting in was quite complicated because there’s no reception on site. I had to turn on my phone and call to find out how we could enter. It wasn’t a bad stay, but check-in was a hassle.
