The apple cake caught me off guard in the best way. Its description hadn't sounded appealing, and it's more like cake than American-style pie, but it was tender and delicious. I only stopped in for coffee and was glad I tried it. Such a quaint place, too.

We really enjoyed our stay at this pretty little spot, and the restored hotel and restaurant are lovely. The American-style pizza was amazing, and it seemed to be a local favorite. Since we were the only guests at Einarshusid in early May, the manager kindly moved us into the nicest room, with a stunning harbor view. That also meant breakfast wasn't available to book. The house is older, so the water pressure is weak, but that didn't dampen our affection for the place.

The owner made us feel welcome and served a tasty, really filling breakfast. My partner and I were just passing through on our trip, but the location was amazing and the beds were very comfortable. The rooms felt a little cold at first, though they warmed up quickly. We had a wonderful stay and would happily have spent longer if we'd had more days.

A warning for other travelers: the bedding was nasty and dirty, and we found bed bugs. If you care about your health, stay away.

The place itself was cute, but the staff were rude and unpleasant. We booked by mistake and I understand cancellation fees are their policy, though I think exceptions should be possible. I called just two hours after booking to explain and ask to cancel, but the guy wouldn't help and spoke to me very rudely.
