E18 Apartments

Everything we needed for a short stay was in this small, clean, well-kept apartment. Check-in was easy because the instructions were clear. It's close to the centre of Akureyri, convenient for getting around, and there was plenty of parking just outside. A comfortable, handy base for visiting the area.

There were a few parking spots on the property, with more along the street, and the supermarket was an easy walk away. Getting into the apartment with the number pad was straightforward. The kitchenette had enough crockery and a few basics like oil and salt. The two double beds were comfortable and close together, and the dining area could seat four. There was a couch too. The bathroom was small but had room to move and keep toiletries, though there was nowhere to hang a towel, so the three of us improvised in the lounge. It got very hot in there and we couldn't lower the heating, while the main room could have been warmer. It's a great little apartment within walking distance of the town centre and harbour.

The apartment itself was very nice and had all the equipment, but communication with the owner was nonexistent. They said they would send restaurant discount vouchers, but I never got them. More seriously, I parked in front of the apartment and found a 20000 ISK ticket the next morning. There were no signs or instructions explaining where I could or couldn't park. I tried contacting them several times and got no reply. I wouldn't recommend it.

The kitchen had everything I needed, apart from an oven, which was fine. The room seemed new and was really clean, and it exceeded what I expected. There are four parking spots at the house, but there’s also enough space along the street.
