The location is perfect, and I really liked the vibe. Breakfast is included, with amazing options. The room was clean, a bit fancy, and had what I needed, though it was on the small side. The bathroom was small too, but the shower was the best I've had this whole trip. Only strange thing was no trash bin in the bathroom.

I booked an apartment through the website, and everything seemed great until I turned on the bathroom light at night and saw silverfish (silfurskottur). I told reception, but they didn't seem very concerned and advised me to send an email. We're checking out today, so unfortunately whoever checks in today may have to deal with it too. These bugs can travel home with you :(

Breakfast was a real highlight, with a generous selection of quality food for different tastes, and the staff were consistently helpful and attentive. The hotel is right by the waterfront and close to Akureyri's lively street, restaurants, the iconic church, and nightlife. The rooms are beautifully designed and well equipped with modern amenities. I also loved the grand, welcoming look of the lobby and reception, with its carefully done maximalist interior. A luxurious, convenient base for exploring the city.

Breakfast was a 10/10 every morning. Carmela was so sweet and thoughtful about our preferences and allergies, making sure they were taken care of. Had to give her a shout-out!

Check-in was quick and easy, and there was free public parking outside. The hotel is in a great spot, an easy walk to downtown. Construction was happening across the road, but it didn't bother us during our stay. Breakfast was decent by Icelandic standards.
