The other guests were loud, and without signs about quiet hours, they seemed to take advantage of that. The place itself is very cute, and I wanted to rate it higher, but our room was cold. It was the only hotel we stayed at in the country without a heater or radiator in the room. If it’s already cold in September, I can’t imagine what winter is like.

We had a comfortable night here before driving around the Snaefellsnes peninsula. It has a beautiful mountain view, free parking, and shared bathrooms. The fully equipped kitchen had the basics we needed, including a microwave, oven, fridge, stove, pots, pans, oil, and spices. To get to the parking, drive up to the top of the steep curb beside the Kaffi Kyyrd entrance at street level. The decor is beautiful and kitschy, with a feel that might bring back summers at your grandparents’.

It feels like a real home, with a nicely equipped kitchen and lovely decor in the living room and hallway. My only gripe was not having a handy bedside outlet for charging my phone.

Loved the sandwiches and Mokka, and the bathroom was so spacious. The house was spotless and had lots of facilities, with a unique decorating style. The host and staff were kind and friendly. Best homestay in Iceland ever.
