Hótel Búðir

We were lucky enough to see the Northern Lights on both nights. The staff were so kind and went out of their way to make our stay special, and our room was comfortable and very clean. Hotel Budir sits in a gorgeous spot that made a great base for exploring the peninsula. We really enjoyed our time there. If you're in the area, try Matarlist, it was one of the best meals we've had in ages.

The bar, lounge spaces, and dining room were all lovely, and everyone we met was great. My friend and I spent three nights at Hotel Budir for a birthday and to see the Northern Lights. We got both: wonderful food at dinner and breakfast, plus an incredible view of the Aurora from our balcony. We stayed in a family room in the new wing, which worked perfectly. We had separate rooms, with a door between them that we could open whenever we wanted. We felt at home throughout the hotel. Thanks especially to Lena, Pedro, and Veronica!

We only had one night, but I'd happily return. We arrived at sunset, and the hotel looked striking under the night sky, with the lights bringing out its character. It's also a fantastic spot for seeing the Northern Lights. The rooms and shared areas are gorgeous and thoughtfully put together, and the staff were all kind. We didn't eat at the restaurant, though the food and drinks looked great.

Inside, the hotel feels modern and cozy, with lovely ocean views and the black church nearby, so don't judge it by the outside. We stayed one night and had the set menu, which was meant to be a concert special but the concert was cancelled because of bad weather. The meal was fine, neither especially impressive nor bad. The beef could have used a little more seasoning.
