The surroundings made it easy to relax, and our room could be darkened completely, so we slept well. Everything throughout the Guesthouse was clean and tidy. Breakfast was fresh and tasty too. We had a wonderful stay at Draflastadir Guesthouse and would happily recommend it.

After a long day of travel, it was nice to have a cozy lounge where we could sit and unwind. The rooms were spacious, modern, and clean, and free Wi-Fi was available. The setting was lovely and peaceful, the service very friendly, and breakfast came with a great view.

The food was excellent and the service friendly. We loved the magical setting, with incredible views and a level of peace and quiet that's hard to beat. Thanks for making our stay a five-star experience, from the Saunders family in South Africa.

The rooms were great, and there was a jacuzzi in the little garden. Breakfast was excellent, better than you often find at an Icelandic hotel. This was probably the quietest place I had to stop on my travels. It's tucked a little away from the busy trails, and if you're heading to north-east Iceland, I'd recommend staying here. The surrounding nature is gorgeous, as it is elsewhere in Iceland.

We used the guesthouse as a base for exploring the Myvatn Lake area. Our family of four was my wife, me, and our boys, aged 9 and 11. The valley is beautiful, with a wild river below and snowcapped mountains around it even in late July. Akureyri, Godifoss, a beautiful waterfall, Husavik and the nearby Puffins, and the Myvatn valley are all nearby. On July 22nd, my 11-year-old and I hiked behind the property up to the snow line and enjoyed the view before breakfast in the barn. It really is a magical place.
