The rooms were comfortable and nice, and everything was very clean. The kitchen was well equipped too. The only drawback was the price, which was higher than anything comparable we paid for in Iceland.

We had a very spacious room, and the whole place was crystal clean and really well equipped. I haven’t stayed in another guesthouse, so I can’t compare, but Skipalækur Guesthouse was simply great. Fully recommended if you’re visiting the area.

The rooms are good and clean. The shared kitchen has everything you need, and it’s all clean and kept in its place. A very nice guest house 👍

We stayed here twice this summer, and even on a busy morning the campsite was quiet, clean, and well maintained. Every detail seemed to be looked after each day. It was the best campsite we found in Iceland, and at 6000 isk per day the price is still a good deal for Iceland. If you’re in the area, we really suggest staying here. Tak fyrir 🙏

(As of 7 Oct 2025) At night there’s a great chance of seeing the aurora, and the campsite is at the start of town, close to grocery stores. It was uncrowded and reasonably priced, with clean facilities and no queues. Showers and hair dryers are included, towels can be rented, and the kitchen has pans, stoves, microwaves, and kettles. Games are available in the kitchen and common area too. The owner was super friendly and accommodating, running a small family business. Price list: Campsite per person - 3000 ISK (with shower) Towels - 200 ISK (depends on total no. of ppl) Washer - 1000 ISK Dryer - 1000 ISK
