After a full day out exploring, we stopped for dinner, and the food was phenomenal, fresh from the farm. The owners were warm and hospitable. We also enjoyed seeing the art studio, and hearing Einar talk about his inspiration and process was a treat. Brunir House is an impressive design, blending modern style with natural elements. The owners seem to have designed and built most, if not all, of it themselves. You can feel their care for the animals and environment, and their dedication to the farm, in the place’s energy and beauty.

The owners welcomed us so warmly that it felt like we’d known them forever. The local food was amazing, and from the restaurant we enjoyed a full 360° view. My friends and I highly recommend the place. A big thank you to the manager and staff for making our two-hour lunch such a great experience. They did everything they could, and more, to make sure we were comfortable and happy. It really exceeded our expectations. Thanks again!

We only had one night at Brunir Horse while travelling around Iceland, and we wish we’d had more time. Set just above the Eyjafjorour fjords, it has a cafeteria and horse riding as well. The house is furnished beautifully in a style we found very Icelandic, and our room was peaceful and comfortable. The services were great, and we appreciated the owner letting us use the kitchen to make a quick meal. We were in a hurry, so didn’t get the chance to learn more about Icelandic culture. We regret stopping for just one night :D

Kristan was fabulous, and the lamb dish was so fresh and amazing. The place is absolutely stunning.

This is a nice little coffiehouse just outside Akureyri. It has a traditional feel, but what really stands out is the owners, Einar and Hugrún. They’re welcoming, artistic people with deep knowledge of horses.
