If you want a simple, quiet stop near Selfoss, this place is handy for restaurants and shops while still feeling out in the countryside. We liked the open fields and mountain views, and having a café right there was a real plus. The Coffee House Inn is well placed for a South Coast road trip, with sights like Seljalandsfoss and the Secret Lagoon within reach. The café serves fresh coffee, light breakfasts, and pastries in a welcoming space. Staff were generally friendly and accommodating, and the atmosphere is relaxed and unpretentious. The rooms are clean and homely, with basic furnishings and beds that are comfortable enough for a night or two, but there isn’t much in the way of extra amenities. The main drawback is the sound. The walls are extremely thin, so bring earplugs in case the host has run out downstairs. You can hear people moving around and doors closing. The bathroom works, but it feels cramped, and there’s only one bathroom for each building, which can be inconvenient if someone needs the toilet or shower when you’re in a hurry. This is a no-fuss place for a short stay, best for people who want simplicity over luxury. There’s little nightlife or dining nearby beyond the on-site café, and anyone expecting a full-service hotel may be disappointed. For road trippers after an affordable, convenient place to pause on the Ring Road, it does the job.

The price was especially welcome when our plans changed at short notice. Even though it’s a little way from the main road, staying here was well worth it. The owners are lovely and welcoming, and the place was impressively clean, right down to the fresh-smelling sheets.

We slept comfortably, and the small, basic room had everything we needed for a peaceful stay. We were lucky to have considerate neighbors in the other two rooms, and everyone did their best to keep quiet. The family who owns the place are very nice, and let us get close to their horses and sheep. The only downside was the loud door. Thanks for a good stay :)

The owners were so friendly. With the bad weather delaying our flight, they even said they wouldn’t charge us if it ended up being cancelled. We had one of the three rooms, sharing a living room, bathroom, and kitchen. There was tea and coffee, plus a hob and microwave if you wanted to cook. Our room wasn’t big or fancy, but it was perfectly fine for one night.

A great little guesthouse out in the middle of nowhere. The rooms are compact but comfortable, and the shared spaces are clean and nicely equipped. We especially liked how fast the Wi-Fi was. If you’re after peace and don’t mind staying outside town, this is a great choice.
