We lost a star because there was no soap, and the guest forgot to give us towels. The kitchen had bread, butter, and eggs, plus food other guests had left behind. The rooms were clean, but six bedrooms share just two bathrooms.

The self-service breakfast was a mess: the kitchen and fridge were full of leftovers, apparently what guests are expected to make breakfast from. Our room was small, had no wardrobe, and hadn’t been cleaned properly. I opened my suitcase on the floor and found hair and dust there. Check-in was also a disaster. We had to come back several times because nobody was at the house. Other guests had the same problem and apparently waited two hours before calling the lady who eventually came. She seemed to have no plan, and didn’t give us a receipt for payment. She promised it the next morning, but nothing came. Totally disappointing, and there was nobody to talk to.

We didn’t stay. When we arrived, someone else was in the room we’d booked, so we were moved to another location and went to the Blue Lagoon. After we came back, our luggage had been taken out of the room, with the bags still open, and left in an unlocked common area with our passports inside. Worst experience I’ve ever had.

There was nobody there when we arrived to check in, and the room hadn’t been cleaned properly. The so-called self-service breakfast meant picking through leftovers that might have been in the fridge too long.
