Litli Geysir

Before our stay, the hotel never answered any of our messages after we booked through Booking.com and were charged, so we couldn’t get help or confirmation. Check-in was just as disappointing. On November 17, 2025, a red-haired female staff member was condescending and unprofessional. She couldn’t clearly explain our room or point us toward it, and my wife and I had to search outside in the dark in near-freezing weather. That’s unacceptable at a hotel. In my experience, the service, especially from this staff member, fell far below basic hospitality. Travelers should be cautious about booking here.

The breakfast was filling, and with the morning views and Geysir close by, it was a great start to the day. Make sure to book breakfast with the room. Our flight changes meant we arrived after 10pm, but check-in was quick and easy. The lodging is simple, affordable, and clean, and the staff were kind and helpful.

The room was quiet and comfortable, and there was a handy coffee and tea station. It’s a great spot for the Getser Hot Springs, just an easy five minute walk to the hotel Springs.

The breakfast at nearby parent Hotel Geysir was a highlight, and it was only a quick walk to Strokkur, especially nice in the evening when the crowds had thinned. The hotel itself sits right across from the Geysir area, which makes it a great base for the geothermal sights. Inside, the small rooms were clean, comfortable, and quiet, a good fit for a short stay. The exterior didn’t impress much, but the stay did. Check-in was easy, parking was free, and there was free coffee or chocolate in the corridor. A practical, comfortable choice for exploring the area.
